THE HOWARD HUGHES CORPORATION
KŌ'ULA AT WARD VILLAGE
Following the success of our 'A'ali'i piece, The Howard Hughes Corporation brought us back to O'ahu to shine light on their newest Ward Village residential tower: Kō'ula. Inspired by the way sugar cane’s foliage twists toward the sky, the building’s facade and architecture is all about the marriage between the natural world and human-made physical forms.
Thus, the spot explores the interplay between nature and sculpture, capturing some of O'ahu’s most stunning natural forms while juxtaposing them against the crafts of four local artisans. The film finds the common denominator in each of their disciplines: nature and sculpture – the ethos of the Kō'ula tower.
