DONOVAN MITCHELL

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell is no stranger to honing his explosive skills in the gym. However, this offseason, he ventured into a different kind of setting at The Prisoner Wine Company in Napa Valley. During a unique wine education experience — part of what the winery calls an "NBA star wine apprenticeship" — Mitchell explored the art of branding, blending, and food pairings, as well as the winery’s philanthropic efforts across social justice and prison reform initiatives.

With guidance from the winemaking team, Chrissy Wittmann and Todd Ricard, Mitchell created a barrel of The Spida Blend, consisting of 60% Syrah, 30% Zinfandel, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2023 vintage, featuring his Spida logo on The Prisoner label.
