Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton is a feature-length documentary about avant-garde hip hop label Stones Throw Records, and its founder, Chris Manak (AKA Peanut Butter Wolf). The film features exclusive interviews with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Common, Questlove, Talib Kweli and Mike D.
Variety called it a “godsend for hip hop fans”, and the British Film Institute named it one of ten “landmark docs on hip-hop’s history and culture.”
The film world premiered at the LA Film Festival in 2013. It played internationally at festivals for a year, culminating at SXSW in 2014, before going on to sell out the Cinerama Dome and premiere on Revolt TV in the same week. It was also licensed to Netflix, followed by Red Bull TV. The film is currently available for rent or purchase via Google Play.
